Getting Started
Instructors
First, you'll need to Sign Up. Make sure to identify your role as an Instructor in the drop down.
Once you've completed the sign up process, log in to your Instructor account.
To create a new course:
- Click the "Create Course" button
- In Step 1, choose an appropriate package
- In Step 2, replace the default 25 students with the number of students in your course
- Enter your course information in Step 3 including the Code which is the join code you will send to your students that allow them to join your course.
- Click "Create Course"
After step 5 above, you will see the course in your dashboard. If you chose the Basic Package, you will receive an invoice from Stripe (a secure payment platform) to pay for the course. If you chose the Basic Package, you cannot access your course until the invoice is paid. Invoices for a course are sent to an instructor (you can view invoices and invoice status in the Billing History section of your dashboard) and typically paid for by you or your institution via credit card. There is currently no way for an individual student to pay for a course. If you want your students to pay, you will have to collect the funds from all of them then use your credit card to pay for the course.
If you receive an invoice, fill out the secure form with your or your institution's credit card details and submit. In a few minutes, your course will be fully available in your instructor dashboard. As an instructor, you will have full, free access to all of the labs to assist your student.
Provide the join code and the site url (https://geotechnical.yourlabs.com) to your students and request that they sign up. On log in, they will be able to input the join code to join the classroom and conduct all of the labs.

To join a course:
- Click the "Join Course" button

- Click the "Join Course" button
After step 3 above, you will see the course in your dashboard. If you receive a message stating that you cannot join a course, either (1) your instructor has not paid for your course yet or (2) the maximum number of students have already joined the course and the course is full. You should contact your instructor in either of the above situations.
Once you have joined a course, click on the Course Name to view the available labs for that course.
Click on the "Start" or "Continue" button below each lab to start or continue a lab.
